Remy Faint

Remy is an emerging Sydney-based artist engaging with a diverse range of mediums and strategies including painting, collage, sculpture and assemblage. Remy’s practice is motivated by the desire to expand languages of abstraction by examining its global histories. Drawing upon influences from collection-based objects and materials specific to his Chinese-Australian heritage, his work mediates both painterly and sculptural ‘silhouettes’ to reflect on themes surrounding visibility, national identity and folklore.

Remy has exhibited nationally at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Cement Fondu, UNSW Galleries, Gosford Regional Gallery, Craft Victoria, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, ADSpace, Mothership Studios, Sheffer Gallery, Comber Street Studios and Kudos. Remy was selected for the national graduate exhibition, Hatched, at PICA in 2022, receiving the Schenberg Art High Commendation Award. Remy won the 2023 Gosford Art Prize and has been a finalist in Mosman Art Prize, Jenny Birt Painting Prize and Kudos Emerging Artist Award. Remy is a finalist in the 2024 Create NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) at Artspace.

Remy’s Art Incubator solo exhibition will be hosted in collaboration with Cassandra Bird Gallery.
