SAMANTHA JADE
Working in the medium of photography, Samantha Jade’s practice centres on exploring the perpetual change that shapes the universe. Often using a cameraless process, Jade investigates how photography can collaborate with unseen and non-human worlds, documenting hidden chemical exchanges and reactions ingrained within the silver-gelatine emulsion of film. Engaging deeply with materiality, time and perception she embraces flux and unpredictability as methods of creation.
Terrestrial Tapestries
Jade’s exhibition Terrestrial Tapestries explores the interconnected, ever-changing nature of existence by drawing parallels between cosmic events and photographic processes. Her works highlight the transformative journey of silver in darkroom photography, presenting the medium as world-responsive and evolving rather than static.
