Samantha Jade: Terrestrial Tapestries
Manly Art Gallery & Museum
11 April – 1 June 2025
2025 Art Incubator grant recipient Samantha Jade, presents a new suite of photographic works exploring the interconnected and ever-changing nature of existence.
Central to Jade’s practice is transmutation—the perpetual change that shapes the universe. Her photographs highlight the transformative journey of silver, an element born from ancient star explosions, and essential to darkroom photography. Rather than capturing fixed moments, her works embrace evolution, with photographic materials continuously remade, redefining photography as a medium that is not static but world-responsive, engaging deeply with materiality, time, and perception.
